Optruth.org Welcome to Operation Truth

Aug 25

My previous post has been generating some interest from various people, which is interesting to say the least.

Although still in their infancy Optruth is really a unique site. Here you have people that are not for or against the war, rather they are interested in generating dialogue about what has gone wrong.

If you are honest you have to admit that mistakes have been made in Iraq. Like Reagan of old, it is not admitting to be wrong, rather that everything is not right. So Optruth would like to see people talk about what actually happens in war. It would be a great think tank to figure out how to best handle the situation in Iraq.

This shouldn’t get anyone upset. If the site expresses partisan support, that is reason to be upset, but discussion should always be welcome.

I was chatting with a friend the other day about what it is that makes a person become attached to a particular thought or belief. We were talking about how an innocent conversation can spark an argument between two people. For example, you might be talking about something you heard on the news or a website that you came across only to find the other person become quite heated on the issue.

I find that on my blog at times, you put up an article and suddenly you get a whole bunch of posts from people (a whole bunch too me is more than one, just to keep it in perspective).

It is a good thing for people to believe strongly in something, but if you can’t even listen to other opinions and consider them before spewing forth the rhetoric you should even talk.

Having said that, I would like to make it clear that I am in support of websites that offer insight into difficult situations in a clear way. You have to decide for yourself if you consider the material biased.
