In The Grid has a nice article about the mysterious appearance of something applish. I also read the article by Rik Riel and forwarded it to a number of corporate types who I thought should know, so I really hope Apple comes in-world.
Dell already made the virtual jump so there is a bit of competition.
My [...]

You know most of the time I spend my days learning stupid shit that I will never really need. Rather than learning about things that might be useful. As I have started drawing again lately and so I have been studying anatomy. Last night I started committing the skeletal structure to memory.
What occured to [...]

This is a nice review of the growth of blogs from Technocrati’s CEO David Sifry. He discusses the growth trends in the blogosphere.

Techcrunch has a little write up on Dell entering Second Life, which I think is not a very well thought out.
People who have no experience in Second Life might make more out of a Corp coming in-world than really exists. Basically Dell pays their agency a few hundred thousand to design some crappy Island, holds [...]

CNN wrote a story about Second Life (SL) discussion addressing whether SL is over hyped or not. People are not really seeing the possibilities with SL, but it generates a lot of coverage. Most of it amounts to PR stunts, but it still brings in new members.
What’s more important is that as more people come [...]

I think it might be unfair to say it is faked, because a transaction is a transaction. It would be the same thing if a friend and I invoiced a million dollars worth of fabricated services.
In real life it wouldn’t happen because you’d have to report it as income and their would probably be transaction [...]

My friend in Second Life (SL) had a funny thing happen the other day. He came home and went inside the 2nd floor where he found a woman on the bed.
Apparently she was wandering about and just went in as the door wasn’t locked. She thought the bed looked very comfortable and couldn’t resist taking [...]

When I listen to the song Fidelity by Regina Spektor it makes me very happy. No just a “that’s nice.” happy, but a real honest-to-goodness, warm and fuzzy happiness.
I love music tons, but I am not knowledgeable about the technical aspects of lovely sounds so feel free to educate me.
The way she structures the notes [...]

I had an interesting realization last night with one of my shoppers. I was out peddling my goods to the Second Life (SL) residents that I ran into (sometimes literally) while exploring Narnia (I don’t know where I was, actually) and I came across a guy at a club. I was trying to sell the [...]

I’ve been thinking more about this issue and thinking that Governments SHOULD tax transactions in SL.
When you think of SL without the fancy 3D virtual world aspect it is primarily just another platform for business transactions. When you set up a shop in SL it isn’t much different than setting up an Internet business in [...]
