Dell Moving Into Second Life
Techcrunch has a little write up on Dell entering Second Life, which I think is not a very well thought out.
People who have no experience in Second Life might make more out of a Corp coming in-world than really exists. Basically Dell pays their agency a few hundred thousand to design some crappy Island, holds a press conference then all the news agencies will report on it generating massive brand awareness.
I think it is a good move as the demographics are perfect for computer companies. If I owned a social networking site and I could say I have 1.3 million members and all of them have relatively powerful computers, they are thirty something, both men and women, and they have money and are spending it, would you as a computer manufacturer be interested?
Um, duh!
