I think this is an excellent video that covers many aspects of a proper freestyle stroke.

 This second video is even better. I think you can see so many important parts of a proper technique. Returning to a question I had about using the rotation in your hips to generate power in your catch and pull. You can definitely see a lot of rotation in the second video. You can see the top of the hips rotates in the direction of stretching arm. As the recovering arm comes around it rotates the hips. Apparently this motion can deliver power to the under-water arm.

The other thing I really like in this video is that you can see him really pushing off of the water.
